“Change is a process of looking at ineffective ways of carrying out God’s assignments in the present, then looking at a better future, and finally developing reasonable strategies to get there.” -Dr. Harry Shields
I wanted to be open and honest with you all as the Camp moves into some transition. Unfortunately, I will no longer be serving as the Camp Director in the coming years. I want you to know that these changes, while not preferable, are not held with negativity. I think the Board has some great ideas in moving forward and I hope that you will continue to support them at full force!
A few principles I want to leave you with:
-There will always be snakes trying to move your vision from God and His calling on your life, to negativity; do not listen or give heed to them.
-The mission of the Camp has not and will not change. God has used and will continue to use WCSC to change the lives and hearts of next generation Christians. A note on this: I may be gone, but the needs of the Camp are not. We will need your full support to make sure that the Camp continues to be a part of our lives for generations to come.
-Invest in the Camp. Look for ways you can get involved, whether that be volunteering for a week, running for a position on the Board, or volunteering to work at the Camp.
-Keep the leadership of the Camp accountable. Ask questions, know the circumstances, be intentional.
I truly believe that the Camp has some great things for the future. God used the Camp to change my life, I know He has used it in yours, your children’s, and your grandchildren’s to do the same. Use the Camp to allow God to speak into the next generation Christians of your Church. I will continue to support the Camp in every way that I am able. As many of you know, I am getting married next summer to my beautiful fianceé, Alyssa, as well as graduating with my Masters Degree, so I will be looking and praying for my next steps in God’s calling for my life. It has been an honor to serve the Camp for the past 11 years of my life, both voluntarily and professionally. I am thankful for your prayers in the next part of mine and Alyssa’s journey in life!
